Brand design for the Tibor Pocket Gallery

Brand design for the Tibor Pocket Gallery

The Gordon’s Tibor Pocket Gallery is a small art gallery in Geelong which hosts regular exhibitions of student visual art and design work. The Gordon wanted a brand identity which reflected their commitment to teaching art, and be a minimal, unique and versatile representation of the gallery that aligned with other professional art galleries.

This brand identity features highly contrasting and grid-like arrangement of text, inspired by the entrance to the gallery, which features distinctive, geometrically windows that frame the artworks inside. Negative space represents the diversity of artworks hosted within, and its placement is inspired by the beautiful geometric artworks of Jiri Tibor Novak, after whom the gallery is named. Together, these elements highlight the focus on art and design education at The Gordon.
